1 do people genearally think the mmbase logo needs an update?
The point i want to make here, is that the branding of the MMBase logo is quite strong. Changing names, logos, styles makes it harder for people to recognice MMBase.
The MMBase logo is already the same since this project became open source (april 2000), and the logo has been used in books, presentations, thesis, documentation, mugs, and is familiar by many people, more and more. As far as i know it is even registered. Just to keep this strong recognicion and keep this strong branding i would not encourage to change the logo.
I like the powered by logo, and i would encourage a logo page at mmbase.org with the logos that people can use. If i have some time i will search for some MMBase logos. (e.g. we have the MMBase logo inversed so it can be easily added in documentation.) The default MMBase logo can be found at http://www.mmbase.org/logo.
