[MMBase-1.7.0] databasesupport support?

Hello,

One of the remaining open issues is support for the 'old' 
databasesupport classes. There are some problems reported with these 
classes, most of these are fixed iirc.
But the main issue is, are these classes thoroughly tested?
Who tested these classes?
If these classes aren't tested very well, can we release MMBase-1.7.0 
with some remarks about them in the releasenotes, or do we need to 
postpone the release until we're absolutely sure these classes still do 
what they used to do?
