Hi, Just a few sentences about my background and what I hope to offer to the MMC.
In 2000/2001 we carried out a CMS selection project within ilse Media BV. After MMBase was chosen I implemented my first MMBase websites, vtwonen.nl and tipculinair.nl. In 2002, I started MMatch, a one-person firm specialized in MMBase consultancy and implementation. I implemented websites like netwerk.tv, muziekcentrum.nl, natuurmonumenten.nl/winkel, roczeeland.nl and the intranet of the VARA and the VPRO. Next to that I gave MMBase courses in a lot of organizations including IBM, Imtech, Teleac and the Mediator Group. Since my first MMBase website, I have been actively involved in the MMBase community. I organized a number of user meetings, I was project leader of the documentation project and I implemented the basic architecture of the new MMBase site. Although I am not a hardcore Java developer, I think my other skills might well complement the skills already available within the MMC. What I hope to offer the MMC is: 1. Link to the user community. As I implement websites and give courses for a broad range of customers, I have a good view on the things they like in MMBase and the problems they run into. 2. Project skills. Before I started MMatch, I have been working for years as a project leader in different organizations. I hope to help the MMC in effective communication, decision making and initiating and monitoring projects. In my opinion MMBase is a system, which is interesting both from a theoretical/technical and a commercial point of view. I think that further improvement of the MMBase core is of strategic importance for the future of MMBase. At the same time new features and functionalities, which are still lacking, have to be added. In the coming years, the MMC will have to balance between these two at some points conflicting goals. Becoming an MMC member would give me the opportunity to contribute in this endeavor.
