You have, but it's not enough. What you actually need is, has eduard pointed
out again, is access to the database cursor. MAX and OFFSET is precisely
what is used in the implementation of this bridge tool, therefore it is a
tool, and indeed intended as part of org.mmbase.bridge.util, so why do you
say that i have to write a bridge tools package when that is excactly what
i'm doing? I think org.mmbase.bridge.util could be compared to e.g.
java.util. bridge.util contains now 5 or 6 classes and could easily grow to
tens like java.util, for all I care ('thousand or so' seems a bit much, and
I don't really believe it).
But semanticly you don't want to use max and offset, you want to iterate the
entire list, that's where this tool is for.
I have no hopes anymore that this hack will make it, but I don't think your
argumentation is correct.
