nested related nodes

Hi All

is there is simple approach to deriving the start node of a path for related
nodes if in fact the tag is within another relatednodes tag, for example:

  <mm:relatednodes type="data_profile">
   <mm:relatednodes ???nodes="data_profile"??? role="posrel"
type="data_profile_fields">
    <tr><td><mm:field name="field_name" /></td></tr>
   </mm:relatednodes>
  </mm:relatednodes>
