This release adds optional support for systemd and a few bug fixes.

Thanks go to Alexander Sulfrian for fixing an issue with the test suite
and to Stuart Henderson for reporting an issue that prevented
compilation on (at least) Solaris/FreeBSD and caused a fatal startup
error on (at least) NetBSD/OpenBSD.
