I've called our consultant this morning what we did is pretty much like you said. We've just remove the "negative not allowed" from the item, then we've delete the line and finally put back the "negative not allowed" on. That did the job. But we've uncovered that we have some batch that have quantity reserved but nothing in stock. That leaves us with negative available quantity and that doesn't make sense. Anyway, that's another story that I'll investigate some other time. Don't worry, if I get stuck you'll hear from me soon enough. :)

go to the item table and use the function 'Edit dimension' ...find the
inventtrans and change the blank dimensions to a value (make sure the values
you change to have enough stock available for you to reduce your
inventjournal line....) be aware the edit dimensions does not do any
onhand check so you can get negative onhand even if the stock model says it
is not allowed (I guess you are going to get it in this exmaple)
alternatively find whatever item dimension group the item has and go and
change warehouse and location to not required (also set negative stock to
allowed)..then you should be able reduce/delete the line I hope.

I've double checked and there's no reservation, no registration, no markup.
I've tried to make a reservation for it but can't 'cause the quantity
available for sales is 0. I should tell you that another problem with this
line is that we've been able to save it with only a batchId and no
inventlocationId or wMSLocationId. So the quantity is like floating in a
batch located nowhere. Anyway, because of this we can't validate the line
because is says that I must fill inventLocation and wMSLocation. But I
can't do that cause it tries to move from (nowhere, nowhere) to
(someInventLocation, someWMSLocation) and it can't because of the "negative
quantity" posted earlier.
If you have some other idea, feel free to send. Otherwise I'll phone our
consultant and see what he can do about it and hopefully I'll know what to
do next time.

well its because you dont allow negative stock for the item I guess so the
easiest is to change that and oyu can delete but then supposedly you have
negative stock status for the item so this is probably not a good enough
answer....so read on... :).
I think maybe some other issue trans has made reservation against this line,
check the reservation and remove it if there is, then you should be able to
delete . This is a little bit of a problem in Ax as journal lines appear as
ordered and so can be reserved against if you allow 'Reserve ordered' (stock
parameter setting).
