Thanks for the feedback Girish and Bruno,
The kind of issues we would look at working on in a South African user group
are not generally those handled in this group, they would be, for example,
providing a stronger motivation (by working together) to microsoft to
improve it's training and support in this region. Also particular
administrative, logistical and legal issues that are specific to our region.
On a pure technical level, a group such as this with a large number of users
from around the world and with varied experience would always be first
choice, but in some cases a regional group does make sense.

technical users

Hi Matt,

I am working in UK. Earlier I used to check technet and then
partnerguide . but things there keeps on changing . Then we also have MBS
online but with the busy schedule of ours its very difficult to check the
things happening in all these sites and  usergroups.

Since joining this development axapta usergroup I feel this not only
helps us solve our problems but also helps us to understand the problems
other people face and their solutions.   Since axapta is a global solution,
there could be 1 in 10 problems which could be affecting a particular region
and I feel its better if we stick to one global group. If we have different
groups country / region wise then many people and ourselves will miss the
problems people are facing and their fixes.

For training purposes I think the regional group could be of
some help but to share the experiences and find the solution to the problems
this global group would be more helpful.

This is just my thought and may not be right.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Girish

Subject: [development-axapta] A call to South African Axapta technical users

To all South African Axapta technical users,
We (the Axapta implementation and development team at UTi Sun couriers) feel
that the technical users at all Axapta sites in South Africa could benefit
from creating a local Axapta user community. We envision such a community
learning from each other's experiences, and helping motivate a greater focus
on the part of Microsoft when it comes to providing quality training and
support in this country. We would like to be able to share experiences
regarding implementations, volumes and  development, as well as helping
recommend competent third party training institutions and implementation
partners.

We would also like to hear from any other such communities in other
countries to be able to learn what steps they have taken towards
establishing productive user groups.
