No Steeve it is not working. It still executing validateWrite() when I check/uncheck the checkbox and then click on the button then it executing validateWrite(). The property you mention is right i think but I dont know why it is not preventing the call to validateWrite() when the button is clicked. Setting the saveRecord property to no doesn't make any difference to the behaviour.
