Ciao Matthijs (and all),
for what concern the point 3, on my fonera(2.0n) after a while
unfortunately it doesn't work.
I put the fonera in wifi mode to use an open wireless with a very low
signal. Sometimes it works some other times it doesn't, the led blinks
and stays fix according to the fact that is connected or not;
unfortunately after a while it stays fix event if connection is over and
the open wifi is gone (sometimes that router is switched off).
I tested it twice in the last 2 night, when I woke up the led was fixed
green without any connection.

hope this can help you in discovering what is going wrong.
cheers, paolo
