Now that you mention it, I think some other user was having a similar problem, where the mounted disk would be emptied by the Fonera on boot. I then suspected some "remove everything in /var" script or program that runs during boot, but I think I couldn't find the file responsible for this. I suspect you're seeing the same. How are you mounting the samba share? Can you somehow let it be mounted later in the boot process (perhaps by adding a "sleep 60" in front of your mount command and running it in the background by appending "&")?
