Looking at the Fedora corpus, there are quite a few programs which link against Qt and which are licensed under the GPL, version 2, but not any later versions. If Qt gradually moves new components to the LGPLv3, this could threaten the future evolution of these programs. Fedora is not affected by this because it will likely treat Qt as a system library, so that it GPLv2 programs can still use it if its license is not GPLv2-compatible, but this interpretation of the system library clause in the GPL is not universal. -- Florian Weimer / Red Hat Product Security _______________________________________________ Development mailing list [email protected] http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/development
