If you don't have a choice, you don't have a choice, but just saying: In one of my projects I needed the x264 libs: http://www.videolan.org/developers/x264.html and the webkit. I was unable to compile x264 with MSVC. Dropping webkit would leave me in the inconvenient situation that either I cannot build x264 or the webkit replacement.
IMHO not being able to build 100% of Qt with the Mingw is not a minor problem.
