The Software OpenGL Renderer should fix any problems that one might have with
Qt Quick.
I tried it with back in 2017 in "Qt Creator, Ubuntu, and VirtualBox" [1]

I don't know how slow would Qt Creator work in such environments though.

The decision of using the software renderer is per-process, thus this decision will also force anything else using QQ2 (various designer plugins and who knows what else) to also use the software path.
Is it acceptable? I'd probably say "no".
