Hi,

In the list of maintainers [1], the Qt Widgets module is today split into
several subcomponents. This was appropriate when a significant amount of work
was done on that module, but that is today no longer the case.

[1] https://wiki.qt.io/Maintainers

After checking with the current maintainers Richard, Jan-Arve, Andreas, and
Eskil, we agreed that we should collapse all those subcomponents and only have
a single “Qt Widgets” component in this table. Eskil, Andreas, Richard, and
Jan-Arve will also step down as maintainers for Qt Widgets; they all have been
focusing their attention on other parts of Qt, or on products built with Qt.
For Qt Project governance this means that Andreas and Richard are stepping down
as a maintainer in the Qt project, at least temporarily.

Given who does the heavy lifting these days with fixing bugs, reviewing
changes, and generally driving improvements, we also agreed to nominate
Christian Ehrlicher and Axel Spoerl as the new co-maintainers of this combined
Qt Widgets submodule, joining me to spread the maintenance over three shoulders.

Cheers,
Volker
