Hi, We mark things that are part of Qt Framework, but not quite ready for production use / ABI and API promises yet as TP. We have been inconsistent on what ’TP’ stands for though 😉 In some places we called it Technical Preview, in others Technology Preview [1].
A few weeks ago, the technical writers decided that it should be Technology Preview [2]. So we have adapted our documentation bit by bit (still ongoing). Anyhow, if you have been working on TP functionality, please use this term in the future. This is pretty much operational. But we’ve been using the term Technical Preview also in a QUIP. Here is a patch that mitigates this: https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/meta/quips/+/711871. As this is a process QUIP, I’m hereby asking for feedback 😊 Kai [1]: https://qt-project.atlassian.net/browse/QTBUG-142362 [2]: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_Terms_and_Concepts -- Kai Köhne, Director R&D | The Qt Company The Qt Company GmbH, Erich-Thilo-Str. 10, D-12489 Berlin Geschäftsführer: Mika Pälsi, Juha Varelius, Jouni Lintunen Sitz der Gesellschaft: Berlin, Registergericht: Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, HRB 144331 B Confidential
