oh, that's a good tip: I should always search bugzilla first. Why? The second (of two) results for "boot hang": http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=887 It's a regression introduced "sometime after the august snapshot".
