Well, I'd thought I had the tape backup problem licked, though I'm not
sure how I'd done so, but for the past few days, it hasn't been working
again. The machine doesn't think there's a tape loaded, and I'm getting
things like this in messages when it checks for the tape:

Mar 31 17:53:18 e-smith kernel: aha1542.c: Unable to abort command for
target 3
Mar 31 17:53:18 e-smith kernel: aha1542.c: Trying device reset for
target 3
Mar 31 17:53:28 e-smith kernel: aha1542.c: Unable to abort command for
target 3
Mar 31 17:53:41 e-smith kernel: Sent BUS RESET to scsi host 0
Mar 31 17:53:51 e-smith kernel: aha1542_intr_handle: Unexpected
interrupt
Mar 31 17:53:51 e-smith kernel: tarstat=2, hastat=0 idlun=60 ccb#=2
Mar 31 17:53:51 e-smith kernel: aha1542_intr_handle: Unexpected
interrupt
Mar 31 17:53:51 e-smith kernel: tarstat=2, hastat=0 idlun=60 ccb#=4

[root@e-smith include]# mt -f /dev/st0 status
/dev/st0: Device or resource busy

I've tried power-cycling the drive, and removing and replacing the
tape, to no effect (haven't tried rebooting the PC yet, though). Any
ideas on this? As always, thanks for any suggestions.
