fetchmail verbosity --silent doesn't work

Hi all,
following the thread to get rid of the cron fetchmail msg's just cont. dots
I typed the following commands

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop fetchmail verbosity --silent
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/fetchmail
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event email-update

but even after I rebooted the box I'm still getting those msg's in my admin 
box.

Did I missed something ??

I'm using a plain 4.1.1 Version

Any help would be apreciated.
