admin console fails after upgrade 4.1b3 -> b4

Machine status before update:
4.1beta3 as "Server&Gateway" on a i800, 256MHz RAM, 2x18GB IBM SCSI drives,
Two 3c905C-TX NICs

Process the install of 4.1beta4 as UPGRADE the existing server
- Login as "admin" on the console.
- Menu "Configure this server and gateway"
  - proceed? --> YES
  - Enter primary domain --> ENTER
Action from server: --> exit to console login

A fresh install solved that problem.
