I believe that in the e-smith manager on one of the pages...

The options for mail settings, there is one where you can put in the address
of your mx server so e-smith knows to poll it.

however whenever I have done this, saved and gone back in - the field is
always blank??

Maybe it is not for this as well.  But my understanding of the manual is
that it is.
