ok, this is what is did:
i went back into the admin console and did the steps to configure the
server to use "custom dynamic dns" then rebooted the machine so the changes
would take effect. i then edited the "custom" file by adding the lines
stated
below. i then tried to run the script and got a "file or directory could not
be
found error" after the script ran. so i tried running the lines from the
command prompt and got an authentication error(i had the right
userid:passwd).
so then i try this from the command line :
wget -O - --http-user=username --http-passwd=password
'http://dynamic.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?host=www.mydomain.com'
and it worked! so, i am still don't understanding what i am doing wrong.
and ideas would be very helpful.
