Okay Charlie, so I don't need to reply on your previous mail because this is the whole issue :-). You can't also see the graphics?? Did you also try http://ipofyourserver:980?? As I described the graphics showed up when I used this url.
That's why I thought it was a bug in the e-smith manager url, but maybe that's a false alarm. I just reinstalled phpBB without major problems (yes a few but that's because I'm trying to convert my Ikonboard forum to the phpBB forum and has nothing to do with e-smith/sme), so I think the login failures in phpBB admin console are caused by mod_gzip and I think this is a little bug in this module.
