The:981 port number is not required for SME Server V5 - the https 
request is transparently proxied to the administration web server. 

You can still access via port 981 directly from the internal network if 
you wish (though this may change in the future - we may bind this server 
only to the loopback network), but the external access shown in the 
document above uses the standard HTTPS/SSL port 443.

The usual warnings apply about allowing external access - please read and
heed the warnings in the document above.
