Hello Steven,
I have not tested this on SME running in SERVER only mode. Not really
sure what you are going to need to do to get it working, or why it isn't
working. Let me think about it.
Jabber Server uses two ports for communication:
        5222 - for client
5269 - for server to server

Regards,
 Noah

Thanks Noah,

I installed this ,per your How-To, on a SME configured as SERVER ONLY
for
testing and playing. I had also set up a Red Hat 7.1 box with the
Jabber.com distro of Jabber server. Very easy by the way.

I have not been able to create Jabber account on the SME. This is for
playing so no pressure. Checking the Jabber logs didnt help. Upon doing
a
port scan of the SME Jabber server revealed the Jabber ports are not
showing.

My question is, have you tested this on a SME configured as a SERVER
ONLY?

Thanks,
Steve Lewis
