You're saying that it would be logical for Win9x & ME machines to ignore
ACL mappings. But what is logical and what actually happens are
occasionally different with Uncle Bill's programs.
Very true Charlie. Sometimes the folks up in Redmond seem to defy logic.

However, neither Win9x nor ME have the ability to enforce ACLs due to limitations of the FAT and FAT32 file systems. Further, neither of these OSs have the ability to "REALLY" participate in a windows workgroup or a windows domain. Given these two fact (and a bit of personal experience), it seems safe to assume that Win 9x and Me simply ignore ACL mappings.
