Hi all,

I have just sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the first release of a simple CBQ
based QoS pannel for E-Smith. Please, consider it a BETA release but ready
for production use. We have tested it in a ESGS 4.1.2 and works great (a note
follows). We expect it to work without trouble under SME 5.x and 5.6 but this
IS NOT TESTED. This addon has been developed by Juan J. Prieto with a very
little help from me. Give him the merit :)

  Caveats:

  1) The pannel is in SPANISH. Any volunteer to translate it into english?
Jose? ;)

  2) Its not ported to the new localization system, its just the old system.
We are testing 5.6 developers release right now and we will do it later on,
but is not done yet. Any volunteer to do this for us? :)

  3) Under ESGS 4.1.2 (RH 7.0 based) especific rules for ftp traffic dont
work :( This is quite weird as we copied the example from "Bandwith Limiting
Howto". We even patched the kernel and tc for HTB support and did it with
HTB.init but still doesnt work (only ftp). Funny enough when tried the same
config under 2.4.18 it works perfectly. Maybe something missing in RH 7.0
(2.2.16)? Any ideas?

  4) It works only in server and gateway mode with two ethernets. It is not
ready for ppp or ISDN connections (but doing so directly in the code is easy).

Yes, we know, it is very simple but does the job. As time permits we will
work in an improved version that lets an advanced admin create every rule.

And last, you will be able to find it in our contrib area (provably will
need to wait until monday):

  ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/eneo/

  The files are:

  eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-00.noarch.rpm
  eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-00.src.rpm

  Dependencies:

  Linux :))))

  Enjoy !! Regards.
