Whiterose is a C++ implementation of a Freenet server. Fred is the Freenet
referance program. In other words, everyone else has to do things the way
Fred does things (thats a bit oversimplified, but thats the gist of it).
Fred 0.4 does not yet compile (last I heard; this may have changed). Until
then, 0.3 is the referance program, and Whiterose aims to be compliant with
0.3, then 0.4 once it's out.
