I think you (Gianni) mention that with maxRoutingSteps set fairly high, then my node might use the 50th best node for routing if the other 49 are not available (for whatever reason). Is this really a bad thing, if the network is heavily overloaded?
If it's set to 10, then only 10 "good nodes" get hit for routing, and in my experience, during an insert they get hit over and over until one of them finally gives in and accepts the insert. Doesn't this just increase the load on the already overloaded "good nodes"? How will this help? Am I missing something obvious about how Freenet routing is supposed to work? Once I finish inserting the data I'm trying to get into freenet now, I'll switch back to my old non-transient 468-based node with mongo data-store (900 MB) (so any references that I might have sent ian will start working again in the near future :-), and maybe even a few routes) Regards, -- G _______________________________________________ devl mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hawk.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/devl
