Is this really that big an issue? For publishing your IP to have any use behind a NAT, you need to punch a hole to allow incoming connections anyway. Is it really that much of an added effort to also configure the correct IP address for fred? A way to tell fred your new IP on the fly if it changes might be useful, however..
