your rpobelm with FECEncodeSegment is more than likely an OOM
issue - you should ensiure that you only ever ever ever ever ever 
call the FEC encoder in one thread at a time, or a big scary monster 
will eat you, and also look in your freenet.log for OOM's and maybe increase 
your java memory allocation (the default used to be 64meg, but it needs 192meg right 
now).

or it could be the same issue... it magically went away for me again without me 
changing anything, so I don't know what's up, but, uhm,. IO can't reproduce it 
anymore, heh.
