In the past 30 hours the oldest key on my node has moved from July of 2002
to Oct 24, 2003. Datastore is 2GB.
Queued data hovers at about 80MB. Bandwidth allocated for this node is 15kB
up and down, typically divided among some 240 actively
transmitting/receiving connections. Actual used bandwidth hovers at about
85% of set values.
CPU load behavior is vastly improved over earlier versions. Experimentally
trying the Fred box with interactive GUI tasks shows that in spite of the
modest (192MB, 450mhz CPU) hardware, work can still be done while this
frenzy of Fred activity is going on.
Overall node status stats are very encouraging, with far more nodes
actually in reliable communication than I've ever seen in the past. (Caveat
is that while I've been running a node since way back when Fred first
appeared, I was out of the picture for several months ending a few days ago
so that may have nothing to do w/ recent changes.)
BTW, thanks for the on-the-fly configuration updater! I'm going to up the
bandwidth here a bunch and see what it does to the queued data figure-I'd
guess the average retrieval speed is going to tax the patience of even a
saint.
