Having it as a GSoC project *is* progress :)
I hope we can get it merged after thats finished.
Would suck to have the same thing happen as with the web-pushing stuff: It got 
merged but not debugged enough and is disabled by default because of that.

I guess Velocity being an Apache project means that it's quite popular - 
that's a good idea, we don't want more homebrew stuff if not necessary :)
