While I do *not* plan to leave Freenet, I would like to state that I'm happy
that you guys are planning to implement something which is *based* upon
Freenet :) [Read the quoted Wiki link for more information]
- It sucks that the recent Bitcoin hype has caused many wheel-reinventions,
and its good to see that someone is trying to use an existing system for a new
project.
It would be nice to discuss what you plan to implement here, because it is
quite possible that parts of it can be already done with existing Freenet
code. For example Freenet *does* have a public gateway mode where you can
allow other people on the Internet to use your Freenet node in a safe manner
(i.e. anything which can change the configuration is disabled). It for sure
could use some improvement, but the foundation exists.
Also, it would of course be nice if our teams could cooperate frequently
during development so that your improvements can be put into the official
Freenet codebase ASAP.
So I would suggest that you compile a small mail which summarizes the
description from your Wiki and post it to devl.
Thank you!
