I think this is a very good idea, at least from a functionality point of view -- the improved connection handling and the new thread pooling thing makes Freenet much more stable than the 0.1 release, which was stalling under the weight of scores of inactive connections. Also if we upgrade datastores sooner rather than later to use version- independent externalization (and stored types =), the data inserted between now and the next major release won't be lost.
