Yeah, I've been working from the paper since it says on the site that the
paper is a more recent version of the algorithm than the code.

oh, *clock* jitter.  No wonder I was confused. :)

Would this require this calculation running constantly, or just at
certain points during the algorithm?  I don't want to be permanantly
sapping the cpu.
