The amount of extra speed is pretty much the total overhead from the several operating system calls that would have been done per message if it wasn't for this. Anyways, I have figured out that the problems that this would cause with debugging wouldn't be very severe (most of the problems are actually do to the fact that a multiprocess program is being debugged, not that the program uses this particular method for IPC). -- Travis Bemann Sendmail is still screwed up on my box.
