The problem is that most nodes are people just trying it out for a few
minutes, finding that's it's alpha, and then doing something else. So most
activity is generated from inform.php. It would probably be better for the
network if we made a single permanent node for casual users to connect
to. It could be preconfigured in nodes.config to be used. This might seem
_more_ centralized than inform.php, but in both cases everything relies on
a single address, whether it's a Freenet address or a URL. We have to have
some central location for vaguely interested people to use. People running
actual permanent nodes can get addresses either via the (now less
frequently updated and more reliable) inform.php script, or any other
mechanism, such as the mailing list or the newsgroup or the IRC channel.
