I don't think anyone expects a development snapshot to work perfectly
all the time, but I think that we should aim to keep the code in CVS
reasonably stable, if only out of courtesy to the other developers.  I
also think that having people keeping an eye on the latest version of
the code, and providing feedback, means that bugs are more likely to be
discovered soon after they are created, making them easier to fix.
