I think this is a good idea, actually - since we are starting to build up a
largish set of contrib addons (various Java and Perl clients, and now C and
Python things), we ought to make them available in prebuilt form.  It makes
more sense, actually, to make the friendlier clients available to those who
download binaries, rather than just those who download source.
