The problem with this is that most people aren't exercising the new code. Having people actually use code as it is developed is the best way to learn about bugs sooner rather than later. This seems especially important in a distributed project like this with multiple authors. Wouldn't it make sense to have a parallel inform.php for current-snapshot users? These people would refresh and restart their nodes every day. Then developers would get instant (or at least daily) feedback about whether things were working.
