We talk a lot about transport independence, but so far we've only got TCP.
Here's an article which describes a way to make connections to firewalled
hosts by using UDP:

Is this something we should look into?  This relates to Christian Huitema's
presentation at the P2P conference about how NATs might kill off
peer-to-peer.
