Yeah, but you can't parse it with the FNP message parser unless you add
public key decryption support to it. You have to decrypt it first and
then parse it.

When testing Whiterose and pouring over the logs, I guess I get a=20
better look than most at how well Freenet is working. It's not good.
The 24-hr delay should have fixed up inform.php, but I'm still
getting timeout's from most of the nodes either on the crpyto
handshake, or on getting a HandshakeReply. Also fred has a nasty
bug where it seems that data gets buffered, then the connection is
closed and the data is lost (Oskar says he is rewriting that code for
0.4 so it isn't worth a bug hunt). That certainly doesn't help=20
things either.
All in all, Freenet isn't happy. Here's hoping that 0.4 fixes things.

I think that given that Aardvark has been down for the last few days, we
should remove it from the FProxy gateway page for 0.3.7.
Any suggestions for an alternative?
Ian.

It isn't perfect, although I can generally retrieve anything I want from
it in a reasonable amount of time.

That is very strange, inform.php should be testing nodes, although it
only opens and closes a TCP connection, nothing more sophisticated than
that. Still, that should be a good indication that a node is working.

Yes.

Public keys are the identities of nodes. A previous reference to alice
would be any previous reference to her public key.

The protocol isn't complete as given, but I feel that it would be nice to
be able to use the failed message for a number of things. One could use it
for loops as well for instance (though that behaves differently, so
classically we would use a whole different message). And even for other
terminal conditions, it would certainly be Alice's benefit if she knows
why the announcement failed.

Yes, though we may be somewhat more less strict on the time, both because
we can be, and because it needs to load larger messages (trailing fields
in 3 of them). Specifically, there needs to be a rather strict timeout
when waiting for the AnnouncementExecute, as I waiting on Alice gives her
ample DOS opporunity...

Too big.

Maybe, I'll have to check.

Same thing in this context (I believe it even says as much).

My parser can read FNP (and html without modification it turns out) from
any stream, can't yours?

More importantly, the fact that you are describing the behavior of other

0.3 beta 3 is out there. This doesn't mean it's stable, just that=20
it's crashing less often now ;)

WhiteRose Install:
0.3 beta 3
First, you will need gmp3. Under debian `apt-get install libgmp3-dev` seems
to be ok. Otherwise either install from your package manager or grab the
srcs and build manually.
When installing gmp3 make sure there is a gmp.h file in an include
directory. Also make sure libgmp.[a|so] exists - the GMP configure script
wasn't perfect when I tried it.
If you get the GMP install wrong you will get errors in mpi.hh or at link
time ("cannot find -lgmp" messages). In that case try again.
After that:
python configure.py
python makeconfig.py (just hit enter for all questions and you should be fi=
ne)
make
make refs (when online)
=2E/wr
The port values are put in the rtv directory.
Have fun.
