I distribute /var/lib/freenet-unstable/seedNodes.dist. You can add
your own seed nodes to /etc/freenet-unstable/seedNodes. The two will
be merged on node start. The latter is never touched by the package.

No. The package is stopgap measure for Debian users wanting easy
access to the 0.4 network. It's not intended for people tracking CVS
closely.

I'm punting the IP address issue, currently. I'm unsure why the node
cannot find out itself via ServerSock.getInetAddress().
