Hi All,

This is off-topic, but I think it might be of interest to most
subscribers to this list.

For the past few months, I - and my partners in crime - have been
working on a new piece of software. For some time now, I have been
quite adament that the ideas behind Freenet could be applied to the
problem of fuzzy searching for information. Amr Z. Kronfol, in his
extremely well researched paper, demonstrated, in simulation, that this
was actually fesable*.

The results of our efforts to-date is an early prototype of "Locutus".
Locutus is built on .Net, a pretty nice architecture that will soon have
a viable Open Source implementation. Basically, it helps you find
stuff.

We are currently looking for beta-testers. At the moment, the
requirements are that you have a decent internet connection, and you use
Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

If things go well, we will be sure to reward those that help us in
beta-testing.

If you are interested, visit http://locut.us/signup.html

All the best,

Ian.
