You might consider making them more path-like and less name-like. For
example:
stats/connections/incoming/rejected/minute
stats/
connections/
incoming/
rejected/
minute
hour
day
accepted/
minute
hour
day
outgoing/
etc.
requests/
etc.
Then if you want connections rejected in & out by minute, wildcarding could
work well. (stats/connections/*/rejected/minute)
