In what way is making everybody who wants to check out the freenet cvs
module wait on a large binary download a convenience?

It seems to me that you are completely abusing cvs to be some sort of
preperation chamber for end user distributions, while ignoring the
effects on the practicality of using it for what it is actually intended
for - coders keeping up with each others concurrent versions.

The module that coders need to check out to work inside should be light,
contain only the internal source coded needed to build, and be adapted
to maximum convenience toward hacking the code inside. The structure
which you have passed down by royal decree is zero for three.
