Excellent work, we definitely need more of this type of thing. If you grab a username from Sourceforge and send it to me I will add you as a developer so that you can apply this and future patches yourself. Hopefully we will be merging new_datastore back into DEFAULT soon and moving to the new module. I would suggest that you only apply your patch to the new_datastore branch for the moment.
