There is lots of technical information in the old FAQ. It would be a good idea to cut out what is obsolete and add that to a technical section of the new FAQ, or maybe to the Architecure page.
I'm not confident enough in my knowledge of the internals to do it all by myself, so I copied the entire text is Pub/FAQ. Developers help please - if you don't have much time just give it a quick look and erase the paragraphs are not relevant at all, or something like that to Jaap: sorry guy, you translated the whole thing to the NL web, but its from March 2000! If you have been updating it while translating please sync to the draft in pub.
