Hi, My node lives on a dsl connection. My ip changes every couple of day or when I reboot. If I just stop and start my node, the rest of the network continues to send me queries. If I reboot requests drop amost to zero. This leads me to think that other nodes do not check to see if a node's ip address changes. If this is correct, a look and compare of ip address after a failed connect could help the network stay stable - suspect there a quite a few nodes using services like dyndns.
